When people try to harm your mood. They use many methods to do it. Their anger 💢 is nothing but difference in status of your and there mind.
If you are able to pause for moment when you are in a midst of an attack. I promise you will see things which can only be seen through extreme mind control.
The key here is let go everything including self respect (though in actuality there would be no harm done to your self respect).
It's the constant defence that mind tries to exhibit. The extent of defence will define a persona.
My advice is to avoid outbursting. I know its not an easy thing but you will achieve it. If you start this practice from today. You may save some good relationships.
